Emotion Center Sunday Seminar with:
Jonathan Entis
September 8th 2024, 9.00 – 16.00

Emotion Center Sunday Seminars

Copenhagen’s Emotion Center is thrilled to invite you to its first Sunday Seminar in ISTDP. The seminar series will feature an array of prominent ISTDP teachers who are invited to do a full day of teaching on a topic of their choosing. All meetings are hosted in-person at the Emotion Center. Since space is limited, only 20 tickets are available for each presentation. We hope our small and homely clinic environment will set the stage for an intimate and collegial learning experience.

For this first presentation, we have invited our friend and colleague Jonathan Entis to join us from Boston. Over the last few years, we have been inspired by Jonathan’s style of ISTDP, which emphasizes systematic and meticulous resistance work, in which every defense is utilized by the therapist for the purpose of intensifying intrapsychic crisis.

For his presentation, Jonathan Entis will focus on this very topic, and has chosen the title “the management of resistance in ISTDP”. Jonathan will show an array of cases from his practice that illustrate his stile of ISTDP and shed light on fundamental and often-overlooked aspects of resistance-work, such as:

  • Working at the level of resistance versus alliance.
  • Flexible use of the HOC.
  • Taking the path of maximum resistance to the unconscious.
  • Systematic use of clarification.

We look very much forward to seeing you in September!
